BIG TIME fundraiser
A Successful world record
Raising $6,000 for Multiple Sclerosis
On Sunday, November 6th, 2016, I became the first person to official document riding a motorcycle 28 hours in a single day.
That’s right, 28 hours in one calendar day.
How could this be possible without the help of Marty McFly or his Delorean? Starting at 12:01 am, I rode my trusty Yamaha across four time zones; Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific gaining three hours and an additional hour as we ended Daylight Saving Time. Before the clock struck midnight, I Rode 2000 miles in 28 hours- all on the same calendar day!
Why the heck would anyone attempt such a ride?
Having a progressive disease with no cure means every minute is precious. Some of us have been lucky and are beating the clock with disease modifying treatment that slow down the progression, but many people living with MS struggle every single day with disabling symptoms, losing hope and running out of time.
This ride is a reminder to hang in there; with a little more time, we will find the cure.
This adventure in time travel, pounding minutes and miles was an extreme challenge with a goal to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. It was never attempted before and will be certified as a new world record through the Iron Butt Association.
All fuel costs for this event was donated by Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Thank you Dale Walksler!
Please Donate. I did not do this ride for my health, well actually I did, but the real reason was to raise money. I don’t ask often. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Thank you. – Longhaulpaul
